LIVING WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY

This thematic book set covers the topic of living with anxiety. Anxiety is a growing mental health issue for both adults and children. The goal of this set is to bring this common issue to light through collaborative conversations and activities about the characters in outstanding picturebooks. This text set is not designed to solve individual student problems with anxiety, but to help students learn more about anxiety and provide a stepping stone for future conversations about mental health and its challenges.

Along with focusing on social-emotional standards (The CASEL 5), this thematic book set embeds English language arts standards where students will complete plot diagrams and story maps, compare and contrast characters, and practice identifying themes. Activities and discussion questions are suited for a 3rd through 6th-grade classroom audience and should be adjusted as appropriate for your grade level and students’ understanding.
